Beauty

Modern General: From Molly With Love Bath and Beauty Line
Modern General subscribes to a set of ’Ten Commandments’ when choosing the products the popular outpost and sister store to Vinaigrette carries. Their mission is aligned with the team behind From Molly With Love, the all natural body and skincare line made with carefully chosen ingredients of the highest quality, which ensure optimal performance without breaking the bank. We flipped for the Molly’s Beauty Oil, the anti-aging facial serum packed with vitamins and antioxidants and a plethora of enhancing, vegan oils (sunflower, rosehip, jojoba, jasmine, sandalwood).

Art

The Store at SITE Santa Fe: Still Points of the Turning World’ Book Art
SITE Santa Fe has succeeded in solidifying Santa Fe’s reputation as one of a handful of cities at the forefront of the art world. SITE’s Sixth International Biennial, Still Points of the Turning World, curated by Klaus Ottmann, included thirteen installations from celebrated artists (Catherine Opie, Peter Doig, and Miroslaw Balka to name a few). Spanning contemporary art media, photography, performance art, soundscapes, painting and installation, the exhibition highlighted each artist’s contribution as an individual, stand-alone work, heightening the patron’s sense of intimacy with every unique piece. Presented in a two-volume, slip-cased set, the collection features the entirety of the Biennial and makes for a visually arresting addition to one’s artistic library and coffee table.

Food & Wine

The Santa Fe School of Cooking: Specialty Classes
What foodie wouldn’t jump at the chance to learn and master this regional cuisine from the very chefs who have given it international culinary fame? Founded by Susan Curtis, whose hunch toward a shift in sustainable, local fare more than twenty years ago proved to be right on the mark, Santa Fe School of Cooking continues to offer courses for novices and pros alike looking to perfect the techniques and flavors of New Mexico under the guidance of the school’s resident chefs along with special guests from some of the city’s premiere kitchens. You can choose from the roster of ongoing demonstrative classes or opt for one of the select specialty classes. We have our eye on the Native American Demonstration Course, taught by James Beard award winning author Lois Ellen Frank. The class offers a unique look into Native American history and how the culture birthed America’s first great cooks. And with dishes like blue corn gnocchi arrowheads with guajillo chile sauce on the menu, you can’t go wrong in this kitchen.
